Mercedes-Benz AMG GT / GTC / GTS / GTR / GTR Pro Catless Downpipes — M178 4.0L Twin-Turbo V8

YPG Motorsport catless downpipes for the Mercedes-AMG GT family replace the factory catalytic converters with full 3.5-inch mandrel-bent stainless steel pipes. The M178 dry-sump V8 responds immediately — faster spool, sharper throttle response, reduced exhaust gas temperatures, and the raw, aggressive V8 note the GT was engineered to deliver.

When paired with a Stage 2 ECU calibration, power gains depend on variant: the AMG GT S moves from 522 HP to 650+ HP, and the GTR pushes well past 700 HP. For Stage 3+ turbo builds on the M178, downpipes are a mandatory prerequisite — the factory cats are the single biggest restriction in the exhaust path.

Installation

Professional installation recommended. Requires vehicle lift access. Installation time is approximately 2–3 hours depending on model variant. A Stage 2 ECU calibration is required to eliminate the CEL and unlock the full performance potential. YPG Motorsport offers remote ECU flashing worldwide — OBD2 tool shipped to your door, guided session, 30–45 minutes, fully reversible to stock.
