Why the Hardware Had to Change First
Most Stage 2 packages ask more of the factory turbochargers than they were ever built to give. The YPG9XX Package starts from the opposite direction — replace the turbos first, calibrate around what the new hardware can actually do.
The YPG Stage 3 Turbo Upgrade for the M178 is CNC-machined in-house: billet compressor wheels, upgraded turbine wheels, ceramic-coated housings, uprated bearings and shafts. Rated to 900+HP. Only then does the calibration work begin.
At this power level, charge air temperature becomes the real limit — not the turbos, not the fuel octane rating on its own. Methanol's latent heat of vaporisation drops intake temperatures aggressively under boost, letting the ECU run more boost and more ignition advance than pump fuel alone would ever permit. That's the second half of the equation: hardware capable of 900+HP, a fuelling strategy that lets the calibration actually use it, and a target of 850 wheel horsepower with margin left on the table.
